Checklist

As moving day get closure, you may get more confused or worried about forgetting something. Following check list will help to move peacefully and hassle free. Our moving crew always ready to help you for any assistance.

Three to Four Weeks Before Moving

  • If you are living on rent send formal intimation to your current landlord or agent about your relocation.
  • Collect your children’s school certificate and transfer documents.
  • Notify government agencies about your relocation along with providing details of your new address and relocation date.
  • Inform your company, colleagues and service providers about your changed address.
  • Inform and notify all of your insurers such as home, vehicle, medical etc. about your relocation and details of your existing coverage for the actual and arrange new coverage or a transfer to your new home.

  • Keep all the important documents in a secure place so that they would not be misplaced during the moving day.
  • Cancel all kinds of club memberships and newspaper subscription.
  • Take an appointment with the veterinarian to obtain health certificates for your pets.
  • As moving expenses are determined on the basis of the weight of the items moved, it will be wise to make the list of the unwanted items. You can donate them to charitable institutions.
  • Make a list of items to be discarded through garage sales.
  • Have a plenty of supplies for packing your items. Try to keep around 10- 12 boxes set aside, so they can be used for last minute items on moving day. Arrange for strong plastic packing tape to close up the boxes safely.

One to Two Weeks Before Moving

  • Discontinue services such as gas, water, phone and electricity and also arrange for the same at your new address.
  • Arrange for child care for your moving day, if required.
  • If you are transferring any vehicles make sure to obtain registration for the same at the place of relocation.
  • Close bank accounts if required.
  • Clean and repair general household.
  • Have a final clean-out and dispose all waste materials

On the Day of Moving

  • Bring all the essential items you need in one place so they are not loaded in the removal van.
  • Keep all valuables and important papers and passports with you.
  • Turn off the gas, the electricity switches and tighten all the water taps.
  • Leave a note of your name, new address and contact number at your old address.
  • Lock all the doors and windows.
  • Make sure you have keys to your new home and drop off your current keys.
  • Check if your storage equipment drawers are empty before moving.
  • Check if you have loaded everything which is to be taken in your car and lock it.
  • Do a final walk along with the packing team.
